Peggy Hallett is a Canadian author, playwright, ghostwriter and memoir writer and educational consultant for hire. She is also an artist, mostly with watercolour and acrylics. She has a background in elementary teaching and spent over twenty years as a teacher and principal. Peggy ran her own private school in Kingston, Ontario and uses the suburbs of this small city as the setting for “Daisy Chains”, her children's chapter book, "Orchids & Orangutans - Book 1 in The Stickered Suitcase" and her memoir/cookbook "No More KD" . She also released a fictitious novel based on her true adventures building a house in the country: "Sex and the Country". Her most recent release is "The Last Olive Branch" which tells the struggles of a spirited young woman in rural post war Italy. All her books are available on Amazon.
Peggy's newest release is a play! She has been involved in over twenty musical theatre productions, both on stage and behind. She conceived the idea for the play while waiting patiently in the dressing room and realizing that all around her were plenty of stories and drama that created a play itself.
Peggy has previously written articles and stories that have been published in "Our Canada" magazine, the local newspaper, The Kingston Whig-Standard and she has contributed to the U of T Alumni Magazine. Since 2010, her life took a change of venue that led to a house on a lake, and after most renovations were complete, more time for writing. She works with clients all over the world in developing their educational materials, ESL lessons, memoirs, ghostwriting projects, website content and copywriting.
"From an early age I started writing. I was in high school when a teacher, who liked my descriptions and dialogue style, encouraged me to keep at it. But I had so many other interests: teaching, drama, art, cooking, and travel. Sitting at a typewriter or with a notebook was something I relegated to short term projects like short stories, song lyrics and plays for my students."
All my books are available at amazon.com and amazon.ca
